Whether you're making one or hundreds, creating wax seals is incredibly easy and a helluva lot of fun. There are just a few things you need before you get started and you can get them all from us at Kustom Haus.\nThe Stamp\nA Wax Seal Stamp is used to make an impression in hot Sealing Wax. As the wax sets, this forms your wax seal. You can choose from a collection of pre-designed Symbols, Icons or Motifs or you might want to create something Personalised. If you're feeling super-creative you can upload your own artwork or logo and use it to make a completely Custom Design Wax Seal Stamp. Check out the entire collection here, each product page has a wealth of information. \nTHE SEALING WAX\nSealing Wax is the fun part and it comes in dozens of colours. There are two kinds; Flexible and Traditional. \nFlexible Sealing Wax is our most popular and practical option. It’s perfect for anything that will be heavily handled or sent through the postal service because it won’t crack or break. You’ll need melting tools to dispense your Flexible Sealing Wax Sticks, which you can read about in the next section.\nTraditional Sealing Wax is breakable which means your seals will snap or crack when a little pressure is applied. For this reason, we don’t recommend sending envelopes with Traditional wax seals through the mail - use Flexible Sealing Wax instead. Thanks to the built-in wick, you won’t need any additional melting tools for Traditional wax (which makes it a great add on when you’re giving a personalised wax seal stamp as a gift).\nTHE MELTING TOOLS\nYour sealing wax needs to be melted down before you can make an impression in it with your stamp to create a wax seal. Our Flexible Sealing Wax Sticks are 12 mm in diameter which means they fit perfectly into any of our 12 mm low-temperature glue guns. We recommend dedicating a gun to sealing wax only, if you’ve used a gun for glue previously you’ll most likely get glue residue in your seals. A gun is a great way of producing seals in small amounts or in bulk but if you're only making the odd seal here and there, you can use a Melting Spoon and Candle to melt your wax.\nTraditional Sealing Wax Sticks have a wick (just like a candle) and you won't need any extra gear to melt them. You simply light the wick and allow the wax to drip onto your chosen surface before impressing your stamp.\nTHE CLEAN UP\nIf you're using a low-temperature glue gun to make your wax seals you may want a way of cleaning out your gun when you're done. Wax Gun Cleaning Sticks are specially formulated to help clean away any coloured wax inside your gun, which is especially handy when you're changing colours. Regardless, you will get some wastage and if you’re changing colours often you may want to keep an extra glue gun on hand for alternate colours. If you don't, you'll find that your colours will mix which can produce some very cool marbling results!\nIt's also a good idea to have an old cloth or rag on hand to clean up and to work on a non-stick or disposable surface, try an old piece of clothing and baking paper.
